BearCheck — Secure attendance in seconds

BearCheck is attendance software for schools and universities. The teacher puts a QR code on the classroom screen, and students scan it with their phones to mark themselves present. The code changes every few seconds, so a photo of it sent to someone outside the room stops working almost immediately.

BearCheck also checks where each student is and which network their phone is on, and compares both with the teacher's. Every check-in is marked green, yellow or red, so the teacher can see which ones to look at more closely, and can change any of them by hand. Fair for students. Effortless for teachers.

How it works

1. The teacher starts an attendance check. A QR code appears on the classroom screen.
2. Students scan the code with their phone camera.
3. BearCheck compares each student's location and network with the teacher's.
4. The teacher gets a list of who is present, with anything unusual marked.
